Plan a Romantic Weekend in a Brighton Hotel

Accommodation

If you want to have a successful romantic getaway, then you have to plan it well.

There are some things that you just have to get right, and this is one of them.

Expectations are going to be high, so you must deliver on both the location and the hotel.

Brighton is a marvellous seaside venue and it has lots of hotels to offer its visitors.

If you are booking a hotel for the first time you need to know that in hotel speak

a ‘double room’ may have twin beds or a double bed. Avoid this misunderstanding

by specifying the style of accommodation that you require when you book.

Rooms with a sea view usually have a premium price but  ‘en suite bathrooms’ are generally a

standard. Check your booking confirmation to make sure you have the type of room and facilities that

you want.

.

Dinner and Breakfast

The hotel room is only one part of the expense you will incur. Is breakfast included in the price

of the accommodation, is it full English Breakfast, or Continental Breakfast?

Some hotels serve breakfast in your bedroom, some only offer restaurant service.

If you are going to get up late then maybe book a hotel that does not include breakfast.

Most hotels have tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom and if the hotel does

not have a coffee shop you can always find a late breakfast locally. Some hotels offer

a late check out time by prior arrangement, its better to sort this out in advance than

to get disturbed by the staff coming to service the room when you are still asleep.

There is no shortage of restaurants in Brighton, they get very busy and you must

book a table in advance. Hotels that do not serve dinner often have an arrangement

with a local restaurant to reserve tables for their residents. Local knowledge is usually

pretty good so ask in your hotel for restaurant recommendations. When you phone

the restaurant ask if they will have a quiet table available and tell them it is a special

occasion for you. Good restaurants will respond to your wishes. If the restaurant is

some distance away then make sure that late evening taxis

are available to get you back to your hotel.

Many hotels offer a package price for dinner, bed and breakfast. Usually

it is for a minimum two-night stay. Some hotels make a further offer to include

a third night at a preferential rate. The advantage of this arrangement is that

you can accurately budget the cost of your break and plan

your additional spend accordingly.

.

Gifts and Surprises

It is often said that  ‘it is the thought that counts’  and you may want to make

a little gift to your partner, something  that you have arranged in advance.

Your hotel will have a favourite local florist and on your behalf will order a

special flower arrangement for your bedroom. You can take it away,

as a momento, at the end of your stay. Similarly you may

order a bottle of champagne to be put on ice for your arrival, or a bowl of

fruit, a box of chocolates or even a personal gift that you have sent in advance to the hotel.

Taking the sea air is a must and a walk along the seafront at Brighton is not to be missed.

You can venture down on the shingle beach to meet the waves, stroll down the Promenade

or even walk out above the waves on the deck of Brighton Pier. Sunset over the sea  is the perfect

backdrop if you are going to ‘pop the question’ !

Hospitality in Brighton is very good and you will find that hotels and restaurants

will go out of their way to make your visit that extra bit special,

but remember it is your plan that will make the difference.
